Old McBrayer is not just McBrayer Legacy Spirits’ second release–it’s the resurrection of one of the most sought-after Bourbons in history.
Known for its superior quality and superb flavor, Old McBrayer took the whiskey world by storm before, during and after Prohibition. In fact, its reputation as one of the most coveted Bourbons of its time was so prominent, the brand has been featured in movies like “The Untouchables” and HBO’s Western series “Deadwood.”
When McBrayer Legacy Spirits came to us with their vision for bringing Old McBrayer back, we dove right in to develop a visual and verbal identity that’s all its own.
WHERE CLASSIC MEETS CONTEMPORARY
Our goal when bringing Old McBrayer back was to preserve the authentic look and feel of the original brand while still appealing to Bourbon fans today. First, we poured ourselves into artifacts and research to ensure our approach was historically accurate.
We knew that incorporating details from the earliest labels of Old McBrayer was a must–but landing on a bottle shape and design that strikes the perfect balance between the past, present and future, was equally important.
Like the original, the Seal of Kentucky was included to remind fans of the authenticity of where the Bourbon was made. Classic fonts, a traditional color palette and an old-school border were chosen to recall other subtleties from the original label.
A classy, user-friendly bottle shape was selected to seamlessly complement McBrayer Legacy Spirits’ first release, W.H. McBrayer, and bring harmony to their growing family of spirits.
